Making tough days a little brighter.
Why we’re here.
Kenzie White grew up watching her two sisters, Nyree and Sidney, battle life-threatening autoimmune illnesses in hospitals. Her sisters’ fear and discomfort was magnified by the cold and sterile hospital environments. Kenzie knew she wanted to help make hospitals less scary for kids when she grew up. In 2021, she founded Honey’s Hospital Kits with the help and support of family and friends.
A child’s hospital stay takes a heavy financial and emotional toll on families, so they’re often unable to transform the stark hospital rooms into warm, welcoming spaces for their child. Honey’s Hospital Kits aims to bring some comfort and joy to an uncomfortable and frightening place.
What we do.
Honey's Hospital Kits was founded in Austin, Texas, and we’re passionate about supporting our local community. We concentrate our efforts on supporting children in non-profit hospitals throughout ATX and surrounding areas.
Our kits include an array of items meant to provide entertainment, comfort, and education for children in hospitals from ages 2-12. We’re big on books - from fun fictional stories to engaging science workbooks. Honey’s Hospital Kits include comfort items like blankets and stuffed animals to make the hospital room a bit more cozy. Toys are also included to bring some joy, and hopefully spark a smile!
How we operate.
Honey’s Hospital Kits is possible because of financial donations from folks like you! This non-profit is run entirely by volunteers, so every penny goes straight toward our kits and programming.
Our organization also sources new, unused goods that we can use in our kits from local businesses and organizations. If you know of any companies that might have goodies fit for Honey’s Hospital Kits, send ‘em our way!
